Pudhina Chutney for Idli, Dosa



Ingredients:

Pudhina - 1 bunch

Coriander - 1/2 bunch or a handful

Urad dhal - 1 spoon

Channa dhal - 1 spoon

Red chilies - 3

Green chilies - 2

Pottu kadalai / fried gram - 2 spoon

Onion - 1

Tomato - 1

Tamarind and salt


Preparation:

1. Roast urad dhal, chana dal, and red chilies in little oil until brown.

2. In a mixie, add the above-roasted items, green chilies, and fried gram, give it a run and set aside. Let it remain in the mixie jar.


3. In a kadai add little oil. Saute onion first. Then saute tomato.

4. Then add pudhina and coriander leaves and saute till the leaves shrink nicely.


5. Transfer the above to the mixie, add the required tamarind juice, and salt, add little water and grind it to chutney consistency.

6. Add spluttered mustard seeds.

7. Tasty Pudhina chutney is ready. Serve it as an accompaniment for Idli and Dosa.
