Paal Pongal Gunta Pongalam

Ingredients:

Raw rice - 1 cup

Idli rice - 1 cup

Urad dal - a handful

Methi - 1/4 spoon

Paal Pongal - 1/2 to 3/4 cup

Curd - 1/2 cup

Onion - 1 chopped

Green chilies - 2 cut round

Curry and coriander leaves


Preparation:

1. Soak rice, urad dal, and methi for 3 to 4 hours.


2. Grind the above with curd, paal pongal, and bring it to batter consistency. Not too thick. Slightly thin consistency. Leave it overnight.

3. Add chopped green chilies, chopped onions, curry, and coriander leaves to the batter and give a good mix. Add salt and soda salt (optional). Add spluttered mustard seeds.

4. Use paniyaram pan and prepare.

5. Tasty Paal Pongal Gunta pongalam/ Paniyaram is ready. Serve hot with Coconut chutney.

Notes:

1. You can add chopped oota samanam. In our house, we usually add chopped oota saamanam. Tastes very nice. Wash and chop.

2. You can also add grated carrots.
