Ingredients:
Radish | Mullangi - 2 small grated or sliced finely
Urad dhal - 1 spoon
Channa dhal - 1 spoon
Onion - 1 small
Garlic - 2 or 3 pods
Red Chillies - 3
Coconut - a handful or little more
Tamarind - small lemon size
Curry and Coriander leaves - a few
Mustard seeds
Salt
Preparation:
1. In a kadai with a little oil, roast urad dal, chana dal, and red chilies until they turn golden brown. Remove them from the heat and set them aside.
2. In the same kadai, add a few tablespoons of oil and sauté radish, chopped garlic and chopped onions. Add coconut, curry leaves, coriander leaves, and tamarind, and continue sautéing until you can smell a pleasant aroma.
3. Allow the mixture to cool down, then blend it in a mixer or blender along with salt until you achieve a chutney-like consistency.
4. Season the chutney with popped mustard seeds.
5. Tasty Radish Chutney | Mullangi Chutney ready. Serve it with hot rice or as an accompaniment to Idli/Dosa.
