Ingredients:
Banana Flower | Valaipoo | Vazhaipoo - 1
Onion - 1
Green Chillies - 2
Mustards seeds, Curry leaves
Shredded Coconut - few
Preparation:
1. First, peel the banana flower by removing the outer husk and the middle filament from each individual flower, as shown in the picture.
2. Thoroughly wash the flowers after peeling, and then chop them into small pieces.
3. In a pan, heat some oil. Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter. Next, add green split green chillies and chopped onions. Saute the mixture until the onions become translucent.
4. Now, add the chopped banana flower to the pan and saute it well with the other ingredients. Close the lid to help the flower cook faster and become tender.
5. Once the banana flower is tender, add the required amount of salt according to your taste preferences.
6. Stir everything together and continue to cook for a few more minutes until the flavors are well combined.
7. Switch off the heat and sprinkle shredded coconut over the cooked banana flower. Give it a good mix, ensuring the shredded coconut is evenly distributed.
