Coconut Chutney

Ingredients:

Grated coconut - 1/4 moodi

Pottu kadalai / Fried gram - equal quantity of grated coconut or a little less than that

Tamarind - a very small piece

Green chilies - 2

Salt

Mustard seeds for seasoning

Coriander leaves - few (Optional)

Ginger - small piece (Optional)


Preparation:

1. In a mixie, first grind pottu kadalai, green chilies, tamarind, and salt. Just one run should be enough.

2. Add the grated coconut and water as required and grind it to fine coarse / chutney consistency.




3. Splutter mustard seeds and pour them over the chutney. Mix it well.

4. Tasty Coconut chutney is ready.


Notes:

1. In Step 2 you can also add a few coriander leaves to give a nice flavor.

2. In Step 1 you can also add a ginger piece. Either use coriander leaf or ginger and don't use them together.
