Chow chow / Seema kathrikai or Bottle gourd / Soorakai - 1 small
Channa dhal / kadalai paruppu - 2 to 3 spoons
Curry leaves, Jeera, and coconut oil for seasoning
For Grinding:
Coconut - 3 to 4 spoons
Green chili - 2 nos
Rice flour - 1 spoon
Curd - 3 - 4 big spoons
Preparation:
1. Soak channa dal for a few minutes and pressure cook it for 3 whistles. Should be soft consistency and not mushy.

2. Cut chow chow into cubes and cook it in hot water on a stove.
3. In a mixie jar, add coconut, green chillies, rice flour, and curd, and grind to a smooth paste.
4. Mix the above with cooked chow chow and add the cooked channa dal. Add salt and give a nice boil till the consistency is a bit thick and should not have a raw taste.
5. In a tadka pan, add a few drops of coconut oil, once hot add jeera and curry leaves and let it splutter. Pour it on top of Mor Kootu.
6. Mor Kootu is ready. Serve hot.
