Ingredients:
For Dhokla Batter:
Gram flour | Besan | Kadalai Maavu -1 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Eno fruit salt - 1 tsp
Water
For Dhokla Syrup:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds
Green chilies – 3 finely chopped
Curry Leaves
Water - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves (chopped)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Preparation:
1. In a bowl, mix everything written under Dhokla batter preparation except Eno salt to a flowing consistency. Set it aside for 10 mins.
2. Fill the cooker with the required water for pressure cooking and bring it to a boil.
3. Just before placing the batter into the cooker, add Eno salt and mix well.
4. Place the bowl inside the cooker and close the lid.
5. Let it steam cook for 15 to 20 mins. After 15 mins, prick the Dhokla and see. If it comes out clean, Dhokla is ready otherwise continue to steam cook until done. Make sure not to overcook it.
6. Remove the Dhokla from the cooker and set it aside. Once it cools down, cut the dhokla into pieces.
7. In a tadka pan, add all the ingredients mentioned under Dhokla Syrup and prepare the syrup.
8. Pour the syrup on top of the Dhokla pieces and let the syrup absorb into Dhokla.
9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
10. Tasty Dhokla is ready. Serve immediately as snacks.
