Saadha Vadai - No onion
Ingredients:
Urad dhal - 1/4 cup
Toor dhal - 1/4 cup
Green chillies - 3 or 4
Red Chillies - 2
Hing
Salt
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Peppercorns - few
Curry and coriander leaves
Preparation:
1. Soak the dal together for at least 2 hours
2. In a mixie, firstly grind green chillies, red chillies, hing, and salt and give a run. Should be coarse. Mix this with the soaked dal and then grind it coarsely. Add very little water if required.
3. Along with the above add ginger and peppercorns and give a run. Should be very coarse. Ground Pepper should be slightly visible.
4. Remove it to a vessel and mix it with chopped curry and coriander leaves.
5. Deep fry vadai. Make a small ball, flatten it on your palm and drop it.
6. Tasty Vadai is ready. Serve hot.

Can be prepared for dhadinam/tithi/amavasya
